3/24/2008

Mr. Waleed Jassim Al-Mossallam, CEO of Dlala Brokerage and Investment Holding Co., was one of the keynote speakers at a seminar titled ‘Penetrating International Markets through Global Deposit Receipts (GDR)’, which was held in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman.

The seminar was held on the sidelines of the conference, ‘The Integration of Europe into the Middle Eastern and North African Markets’, which was organized by the US-based Bank of New York. Representatives of over 200 listed companies and senior managers of major international investment funds attended the conference.

Participants at the conference included Ms. Paulina - CEO of NASDAQ, Mr. Ebkan - Director of Business Development at London Stock Exchange and Mr. Andi - Director of Business Development at Pink Sheets Co. LLC, USA. The meeting was presided over by Mr. Andrew, CEO of Bank of New York Mellon.

In his keynote address, Mr. Al-Mossallam indicated that the economic boom and high liquidity presently witnessed by the Qatari economy has brought about the need to explore new investment opportunities in order to utilize the surplus cash and to diversify the investment base. He said that one of DSM's most cherished objectives is to consolidate its position in the international exchange market by attracting local and international investments and thereby further augment its competitiveness.

He pointed out that the next stage will concentrate on helping companies to develop the necessary infrastructure to enter the international markets. “Dlala Holding is aiming to capture a 12 to 15% share in the international market and thereby enhance its position as a leading international brokerage house.

"As a major sponsor of the conference, we have succeeded in facilitating increased interaction between Dlala Holding as well as all other companies listed on DSM and major investment companies based in the USA.”, he added.

"On this occasion, Dlala Holding would like to express its pleasure for being able to contribute towards expanding the investor base on behalf of the listed companies, a role we intend to expand further in the international arena.”
